It's not as bad as it looks. About 40-odd stairs, but watch out for the last one (there is obviousely a piece missing, as the last "Step" is about two feet). There is a worn-path to another bunker, but it should be obvious that if you fall down there, no-one is gonna help you get back up, so not recommended.

At the bottom "Step", it's a double-back to the right along the path to the bunker "Window", and back into darkness, down the winding stairs (which don't seem quite so bad now), and then on to...
