Notice on the left side of this picture inside the crater wall that there is a road leading up to a blackish hole. That is the entrance into the crater, and while there is enough room for two cars to pass, there is very little room left over for pedestrians. But that hasn't stopped anyone yet.

Just beyond the lip of the crater is the start of the Kahala district, noted as the place a number of celebrities call, "Home". In addition, if you ignore all the signs telling you to go back to the highway, at the end of DiamondHead drive is the Kahala Hilton...er...Mandarin. The only time I have been there so far is to see the Dolphin and Sea Turtle shows.

Koko-head and Hanauma bay are visible in the distance. If the clouds had not been so intense that day, one would have been able to see Molokai at the extreme right side of the frame.
